Addams family the musical

July 13 & 14, 2018

"It's family first and family last and family by and by.
When you're an Addams you do what Addams do or die!"

In July of 2018, PVTC produced its inaugural show, Addams Family the Musical, on the Glenn Miller Auditorium stage. The show was completely cast from current and former FMHS drama students, with crew from the FMHS drama family as well. This “alumni show” built bridges between theatre lovers from many different generations, and felt like a family reunion of sorts. The show exuded joy and peculiarity, and we couldn’t have chosen a better rookie production for PVTC.

The Addams Family

The story of

Addams Family

It may sound crazy to produce an entire musical in a week, and that’s because it is!
Believe it or not, this incredibly talented cast and crew only worked together on this show for one week. Many of the days during this crazy week were 12-14 hour rehearsal days, and in addition to vocal, choreography and acting rehearsals, this week also included all the craziness of costume creation, set building and more. The whole team, including families at home, came together to feed the company, with people bringing in lunches and dinners to share – platters of desserts and steaming crock-pots were a common sight in the hallways of the high school. Another very special thing about this show was the   lengths people went to in order to be a part of this FMHS Drama “reunion.” We had cast members fly in from both coasts to perform, actors with full-time jobs taking vacation time to participate, spouses of      cast members coming to help build the set, and even cast and crew members’ babies and young kids joining in at rehearsal. tech rehearsals, and cast bonding! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we enjoyed every second of it!
